Niel Customs AI uses artificial intelligence to assist with customs preparation and document processing. All AI-generated output — including HTS classifications, duty estimates, compliance and screening flags, and extracted document data — is preliminary, may contain errors, and is provided for informational purposes only. It must be reviewed and confirmed by a licensed U.S. customs broker before it is relied upon or used in any filing.
The output does not constitute legal, tax, or other professional advice. It is not a substitute for the independent judgment of a qualified professional.
What this applies to
Every category of AI output carries the same caveat: verify before you rely.
HTS classification
Suggested Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes are a preliminary recommendation, never a final classification. A licensed customs broker must confirm the correct code before it is used or filed.
Duty and cost estimates
Duty rates, landed-cost figures, and fee calculations are estimates that may be incomplete or out of date. Actual amounts are determined by CBP and applicable law.
Compliance and screening flags
Screening is performed against public denied-party lists and is not a definitive OFAC or sanctions determination. A flag — or the absence of one — is not a compliance decision.
Document extraction
Extracted fields may contain errors. Extraction currently supports digitally-native, text-based files (PDF, DOCX, XLSX); vision OCR for scanned images is on the roadmap and not yet available. Always verify extracted data against the source document.
A licensed broker confirms before reliance
The platform prepares and organizes work; it does not itself file or transmit entries to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Any filing with CBP is made by a licensed customs broker who reviews the AI-assisted work and takes professional responsibility for it. You should not act on AI output until a licensed broker has confirmed it.
No professional relationship formed
Using these tools does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship or a broker-client relationship. A broker-client relationship begins only when a licensed customs broker is engaged and a valid power of attorney is in place. Nothing on this page or in the platform is legal advice.
